A recent discussion on the r/WutheringWaves subreddit highlights the community's attachment to 4-star characters. The thread, initiated by user /u/m_studio_x, asks players to identify 4-star units they have built as main DPS specifically for the love of the game, rather than for meta purposes or Matrix requirements.
In the top response, the original poster shares their personal favorites: Yangyang and Lumi. The user explains that they continue to use "Vanilla Yangyang" despite the release of the newer "Yangyang Xuanling" variant, citing her as the character they mained hard since the game's start. Regarding Lumi, the user describes her as a "ball of joy and whimsy" with a fun kit, acknowledging that her 4-star rarity is a limitation but noting their current build is suboptimal. The post concludes with a lighthearted comment about the character's aesthetics. This interaction reflects a broader trend in gacha communities where players prioritize character design and personal connection over raw statistical efficiency, celebrating the utility and charm of lower-rarity units in their rosters.
